What We Believe & Why We Exist
Our Mission
We exist to introduce people to Jesus, and help them become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Meet the pastor
Preacher, husband, father, and a guy who’s just trying to get to heaven and take others with me. My primary goal in teaching and preaching is to present Jesus in a practical, understandable, and applicable way. In my free time, you’ll find me spending time with my wife Jennifer, my three children, reading, restoring my old pickup, or playing my guitar.

Our Beliefs
The Bible is our guide and authority in all matters as it contains the words inspired by the Holy Spirit about our Savior, Jesus the Messiah. As flawed humans, students of the Bible may come to different conclusions at minor points. This is normal, and you will find a multitude of viewpoints at Countryside. Because of this, Our Beliefs page lists some of the core convictions of Countryside Christian Church. There is certainly more to be said on each of these topics, but we believe that these core convictions should be reasonably clear when reading Scripture. Have a question about one of these items? Is something missing here that you believe? Let us know! We’d love to talk about the Bible, what it teaches us about Jesus, and how to live in light of it’s revelation today!
We believe God exists as a trinity –Father, Son, and Spirit
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20
We believe miracles and events recorded in the Bible actually happened
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe God created mankind as a unique spiritual being
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Genesis 2:7
We believe Sin separates humanity from God
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23
We believe Jesus was born of a virgin
to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
Luke 1:27
We believe Jesus was not just a great moral teacher, but was God in the flesh
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
John 1:1-3
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
We believe Jesus Christ died for everyone
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10
We believe Jesus was resurrected in bodily form from the dead
“Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.
Acts 2:29-32
We believe Jesus is alive and is working in people today through the Holy Spirit
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38
We believe Jesus is coming again
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
Acts 1:11
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
We believe all people will be judged by God
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:12-15
We believe salvation is dependent on a person repenting of sin, accepting Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death, confessing Christ as Lord and Savior, and following through with baptism by immersion to become a part of Christ’s church
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38
